2025 marks the first time Vietnam will host the Vietnam International Music & Arts Festival (VIMAF) on a national and Southeast Asian scale.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Vietnam International Music & Arts Festival 2025 (VIMAF) is the first international-scale music and arts festival ever hosted in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Singapore, Russia, the United States, Australia… why not Vietnam?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The organizer of the event is the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association (VCIDA). The coordinating and implementing unit is the Vietnam Institute of Arts Education (VIA Education) in collaboration with VCIDA. The academic advisor is the Soul Institute of Arts (SIA).<\/p>\n

Speaking about VIMAF\u2019s distinctiveness, practicality, and competitiveness compared to the current popularity of TV talent shows, artist and educator Thanh Bui shared: \u201cEvery competition is a valuable opportunity for the young generation. I myself have joined game shows to discover new talents, and many of them have become very successful.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, VIMAF carries a broader and more inclusive vision, without limitation of region, format, or age. VIMAF is not about competition, awards, or rankings, but a healthy, genuine, and inspiring platform to nurture global talents and create equal connections – bringing Vietnam to the world and the world to Vietnam.<\/p>\n

\u201cYears ago, when our children wanted to participate in international competitions, they had to go abroad\u2014to Singapore, Russia, the United States, or Australia. I asked myself: why doesn\u2019t Vietnam have a global-standard stage to attract talents from the region and the world here?\u201d said Thanh Bui.<\/p>\n

People\u2019s Artist Vuong Duy Bien, President of the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association, shared: \u201cVIMAF is not just a festival but a launchpad where young artistic talents are connected, inspired, and empowered to turn their passion into a career and bring Vietnam to the international stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

VIMAF 2025 will take place from December 12 to 13, with the Gala Night held on December 13 at Capital Theatre, Ho Chi Minh City. The festival will feature competitions in music and dance categories with live performances on stage. Fifteen outstanding acts will be selected to perform at the Gala Night.<\/p>\n

The judging panel includes both international and Vietnamese experts<\/strong><\/p>\n

Music category: musician Thanh Bui; pianist Adam Gyorgy (Global Ambassador of Steinway & Sons); Nicholas Keyworth (senior examiner of Trinity College London); and vocal coach Bui Trieu Yen (who has trained contestants for Vietnam Idol, Vietnam\u2019s Got Talent, The Winner Is, etc.).<\/p>\n

Dance category: choreographer Alexander Tu; Sabra Elise Johnson, winner of So You Think You Can Dance (U.S.); and Do Hai Anh, winner of Vietnam\u2019s So You Think You Can Dance.<\/p>\n
